Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Roche style is more European than Okanagan, with a certain dryness and acidity that shows the structure. However, it still offers plenty of savoury Okanagan notes and orchard fruit. It has been grown organically at Kozier Vineyard on the Naramata Bench since 2007. Crunchy pear, fresh lemon, a creamy undercurrent, and a mineral ending add complexity. I love the versatility it brings to the table. It is aged 10 months in French neutral oak, adding depth and mouthfeel without any oak. Impressive.Tasted: 22 February 2024Tasted by: Prices:
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom Naramata's Kozier Organic Vineyard, this PG was planted in 2007, and fermented in neutral French oak (no MLF), where it aged for 10 months prior to bottling. The treatment provides a subtlety creamy and textural backdrop to the orchard pear, wild lemon, white honey, and scrubby desert sage ruling the palate. There's a lovely inherent freshness here, buoying this through a lingering stony finish. Quite smart, this is the best PG I've seen from this promising winery.Tasted: 17 October 2023Tasted by: Prices:
