East Kelowna Slopes, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom East Kelowna's Lakeshore vineyard, this gamay was fermented on skins in concrete over 1 month, and then gravity fed into a basket press before returning to concrete and large neutral oak for aging. The wine was then racked into a mix of 10% new barrique, and puncheons for the last 3 months on fine lees. There's a lot going on with the vini, but thankfully the end result is a tightly structured gamay with dark plum etched with thorny blackberry and brightened with lifted cassis acidity. Tannins are light and long and slightly grippy, guiding this to a snappy, tart and puckering finish.
