Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAn extreme version of this variety that highlights freshness and intense savoury notes. The nose is a cherry, herbal raspberry affair with a strong rooty earthy undercurrent. The structure is firm with super bright acidity and a stony, savoury and salty finish. The fruit is all Naramata - from the clay banks of Deep Roots Vineyard. The wine is aged ten months in a mix of French barriques, puncheons and cask and left for another year in bottle. A bit geeky and extreme and must be served with food. The 12.6 percent alcohol emphasizes the chiselled, tight style here.Tasted: 20 October 2016Tasted by: Prices:

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada#GoGamayGo. This is the brightest, freshest, most savoury JoieFarm gamay in memory. Dark cherry, herbal raspberry and plum are contained by a lithe but firm structure, more akin to Cru Beaujolais than North American gamay. Stony, savoury and salty throughout, with a subtle, supple sun-sweetness to a lengthy and crisp, peppery finish. From the clay banks of Deep Roots Vineyard on Naramata Bench, this was aged for ten months in a mix of French barriques, puncheons and cask, and allowed the grace of a year in bottle before release. At 12.6 percent, this is exceptionally quaffable. Stock up, while you can.Tasted: 12 September 2016Tasted by: Prices:
