Catena Zapata Malbec Nicasia Vineyard 2020

San Carlos, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaNicasia Vineyard is situated at 1,095m in Uco Valley's Altamira region. It makes an exciting contrast to the Adrianna Vineyard single parcel malbecs reviewed several weeks ago. This comes across as sturdier and riper, with crushed wild berries, raspberry compote, and thyme framed by decadent, chocolatey new French oak. The palate is impressively dense and concentrated, seamlessly balancing the sculpted, firm-grained tannins that still give grip to the long finish. Give this a healthy decant if opening in the near-term, otherwise feel confident that this will improve in your cellar over the next 5-7 years.Tasted: 13 October 2023Tasted by: Geoffrey Moss MWPrices:
