Plume Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAnother 2021 silky cabernet from the Similkameen. Maybe the valley's name should be the Silk-ameen. In any event, 2021 was a scorcher, and it seems it was perfect for cabernet sauvignon, notoriously difficult to ripen in BC. Winemaker Jeff del Nin produces this wine at Quails' Gate as a sister label to its same-named Alexander Valley version in Sonoma. This is more mineral with that stony dusty underside, silky round black fruit, and dry savoury finish. It is youthful and needs time, but its round textures will permit you to drink this wine now. It is a gastronomic wine and one to watch in the coming years.Tasted: 11 September 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
