Painted Rock Chardonnay 2022

Skaha Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaLike last year, Painted Rock engaged in four mini harvests, picking its chardonnay over two weeks, capturing different levels of acidity and ripeness. Some 85% of the wine was aged six months in 45% new French oak, and 40% in older used barrels. The rest was stored in stainless steel. Less than a quarter went through malolactic fermentation, leaving the wine surprisingly fresh. Look for tropical pineapple and melon with stony mineral notes underneath. The finish is clean and dry. There's not a lot of complexity, but there's excellent drinkability. Turkey, pasta, and pan-fried squid would be fine matches.Tasted: 21 September 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
