Painted Rock Chardonnay 2014
Skaha Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe 2014 was picked over seven days. Some 80 percent was aged 5½ months in French oak, 50/50 new and second fill barrels – the last picked underwent malolactic fermentation in stainless steel. The primary nose is reduced under screwcap so get some air on it by decanting. As it cleans up, it has a green apple, eraser, pear skin aroma. The palate is similar with notes of tropical fruit, mineral highlights and a strong leesy, resiny/lemon tart finish. Try this with halibut now or give it another year in bottle to pull together.Tasted: 30 March 2016Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $30.35 | 750ml | winery direct, VQA wine shops |
