Blasted Church Small Blessings Mourvèdre Syrah Grenache 2021

Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA tough year for smoke has left its mark on this wine as it ages in the bottle. The opening is a red fruit affair with bright acidity and smoky notes. Plums and cherries dominate the palate, which is frankly a little light, before the earthy, smoky notes return to linger in the finish. This needs drinking this year with smoky grilled meats. The blend is 35/33/32 mourvèdre/syrah/grenache. I would very much like to see this in the cleaner year. The mourvèdre and grenache were harvested off the Moksha Vineyard in Osoyoos, while the syrah is grown at House Vineyard south of Oliver.Tasted: 27 September 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
