Mayhem Cabernet Merlot 2021
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis year's Cab Franc (13%) Merlot (87%) comes off Osoyoos' Anarchist Mountain Vineyard, and Oliver's Ryegrass Road Vineyard. Each site was whole berry destemmed into stainless and fermented separately, heading to older French barrique for 11 months. After the blend it was bottled unfined and unfiltered. Ripe, dense, and smoked blue and black fruits rule this full bodied red, with gritty wood grained tannins framing the sides, and tart, pinched acidity taking this to a smoked earth finish.
