Matua Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2022
Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandMatua is said to have produced New Zealand's first sauvignon blanc in 1974 in Auckland. Forty eight years later, 2022 opens with jalapeno and dried herbs with a touch of lemon. The palate is similar and clean but watery, making it easy to sip. Zippy, if uncomplicated, it sits in the middle of a sea of Kiwi sauvignon at this price point. The fruit blends sites across Marlborough's Wairau and Awatere Valleys. Fish tacos or mussels are the match.Tasted: 13 August 2023Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $18.99 | 750ml | BCLS |
