Fort Berens Riesling 2022
British Columbia, CanadaFort Berens issues two rieslings a year. This classic comes with more RS (9.6 g/L) that barely takes it into the off-dry zone, and the fruit is mostly Lillooet estate, with 27 percent out of Naramata. Post ferment, it gets a four month rest on lees before bottling. Sugar isn’t an issue, disappearing into Vancouver Island like acidity, pitching lime sherbet, zest, and crab apples. Delicate and lightly flavoured, it should be served with pretty neutral dishes to the best effect.
