River Stone Corner Stone 2019
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaTheir Oliver estate vineyard was originally planted with this wine in mind. Their flagship bottle, this year's Corner Stone blends 33% merlot, 33% cabernet franc, 16% cabernet sauvignon, 12% malbec, and 6% petit verdot, all aged 18 months in French oak. Though 2019, it's a current release, and you sense that weight through the wear and stretch of colour and fruit in this dense, full red. Stewed cherries, black plums, cracked peppercorn, espresso, potpourri is coated with ample sticky tannins, taking this to a warming bitter cocoa finish.
