Beringer Chardonnay Private Reserve 2020
Napa Valley, California, United StatesPrivate Reserve has long come from Gamble Ranch in Oakville, where its Clone 4 vines were planted in 1976. The good news is the wine is far from the 1980s style, although it's hardly an electric next-generation version of chardonnay. It is a full flavoured, ripe, honeyed tropical version of chardonnay, stacked with creamy layers of flavour. It carries 80% new French oak, adding toast and vanilla to the finish.
