Márcio Lopes Pequenos Rebentos Loureiro 2021

PortugalMárcio Lopes studied as an engineer, but started his winemaking career working for two years with Vinho Verde master Anselmo Mendes in Melgaço. He then traveled to cool climate Australia (Rutherglen and Tasmania) before returning to Portugal in 2010 to start his own projects, including Pequenos Rebentos in Vinho Verde. From VV's acclaimed Monçao & Melgaço subregion, this sustainably farmed loureiro was native fermented in stainless, where it remained on lees with bâtonnage for 5 months. Pouring a deep yellow hue, this is redolent with honeysuckle, yellow peach, fragrant pear blossoms which stretch across a waxen palate. The granitic soils provide a lovely buzzy texture to the underlay, making this Atlantic influenced wine even more food-friendly. Enjoy now.Tasted: 10 April 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
