Château Coquillas Blanc 2021

Pessac-Léognan, Graves, Bordeaux, FranceChâteau Coquillas is the second wine of Château de France, based in Pessac-Léognan, and with 40 sustainably farmed hectares of its own. This blend is 80 SB / 20 Sém from deep gravelled soils. It was fermented and aged in older oak barrels for 9 months, with regular bâtonnage. Bright gooseberry, white grapefruit is laced with smoked stone and lemon verbena, running the length of this finely structured palate. The finish lingers with flake salts. Lovely judicial use of wood here lends a refined structure without overwhelming the youthful fruit. Yet another example why folks should drink much more white Bordeaux.Tasted: 14 April 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
