Château de France Grand Bordeaux Blanc 2021

Pessac-Léognan, Graves, Bordeaux, FranceThis blend of 80% sauvignon ad 20% sémillon come off deeply gravelled soils, Fermented in wood, and aged in mix of new and old barrels. It was fermented in barrel, and then aged in the same (30% new) for 10 months with regular bâtonnage. Quite toasty and structural, the new wood has an impact through the grippy sides and very creamy structure. White flowers, light toast, lemon peel and crushed stones rule the palate, and while the wood sticks out some at this early stage, it should certainly integrate more with age. For now, this is the one to partner with richer foods, like white risotto. White flowers, light toast, lemon peel and crushed stones.Tasted: 14 April 2023Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
