Fogolar Hughes Vineyard Riesling 2020
Lincoln Lakeshore, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaFogolar Wines is a new small-lot Niagara project created by winemaker Marc Pistor, and named in honour of his Friulian roots (fogolar = hearth). This single vineyard riesling comes off Hughes Vineyard in Lincoln Lakeshore. It was partially native fermented, with fermentation halted when the desired sweetness was reached (here 31 g/L). It rested 10 months in stainless. Juicy pulpy lime, pear, tangerine flood this slight, 9% wine, with pithy citrus lingering on the mouthwatering, sour lemon finish.
