Fort Berens Pinot Gris 2022
British Columbia, CanadaThis year's Pinot Gris was off their estate Dry Creek Vineyard, Lytton's Winch Spur Vineyard, and random Osoyoos site(s). The destemmed grapes had 4 hours skin contact, with dry ice in the hope to preserve / protect against O2. After a cold ferment, this was aged 4 months on lees. As one might expect from this much winemaking, the wine is left quite disjointed and angular, with crunchy pear, green apple, and white grapefruit, slicked with lees and scented with desert scrub. A bit clinical, but best served with a big chill / over ice.Tasted: 31 December 2022Tasted by: Prices:BC | $23.49 | 750ml | winery online/direct, select private retailers, grocery |
