Il Molino di Grace Il Margone Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2016
Tuscany, ItalyThis has a gorgeous, lifted nose that still shows a good core of fruit, intertwined with mature, tertiary notes after additional time in bottle. Dried cherries and red plums are layered with dried lavender, humus, and sandalwood, with a balanced accent of toasted spices after aging 16 months in a combination of French barriques and tonneaux. The powdery tannins are nicely resolved at this stage, and it's certainly in its prime drinking window, though will hold for another 3-4 years.
