Gold Hill Merlot 2018
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Gold Hill style is overt and showy, and this 2018 merlot does not disappoint, so plush and full of that savoury desert garrigue. It is dark and jammy on the palate, with just a wisp of sweetness that disappears into a savoury undertow. Merlot is a grape you build a reputation on, and wine like this can take us there. I want to say it is more Bolgheri than Bordeaux, but it is mostly Okanagan. Pick your cheese most any will do or serve it now with a grilled steak.
