Gold Hill Merlot 2012
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaI’d like to say there was less new oak here this year but at the very least there is much more intense, black cherry fruit on the nose. The attack is firm and well-structured with rich but soft tannins and more black cherry fruit poking through. The finish is fresh but not over the top acidic and warm with classic, savoury, dried herbs and tobacco. A solid effort that should get better in the bottle over the next two years.Tasted: 17 September 2015Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Treve RingPrices:BC | $25.00 | 750ml | winery direct, VQA wine shops |
