Moon Curser Syrah 2020

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaOver the last decade, south Okanagan has been recognized as a consistent producer of top flight syrah. Add the outstanding 2020 vintage to the mix and you can expect big things from this simple but well made label. Mainly Osoyoos East Bench, the fruit jumps from the glass, a testament to light-handed winemaking. It gets 28 percent new oak, but the rest is all neutral, again letting the grapes shine through. I love the aromatics led by violets, pepper, and dark chocolate. The palate has all that and an intense savoury thread that turbocharges the blueberry and cumin notes that streak the juice. Fun to drink, but you can hold this for five years with no problems. Two percent tannat is the secret sauce here.Tasted: 17 July 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
