California, United StatesFrom Monterey's Arroyo Seco AVA, this pinot comes off a gravelly alluvial plain beneath the Santa Lucia Mountains, cooled by winds from Monterey Bay. It spent 10 months in French oak (30% new). Ripe and forward, with sweet plum, black raspberry, mocha on a brief palate, finishing with warming spice notes.
