Bertrand & Vincent Marchesseau Funambule Bourgueil 2019
Bourgueil, Touraine, Loire, FranceFunambule translates as tightrope walker, and this organic cab franc from the Marchesseau brothers is produced from a mix of clay and gravelly sands between the slopes and the Loire River. After a stainless ferment, 10% was aged in oak for three months prior to bottling. Dusky herbal plum, black raspberry, floral brambles fills the textural, steely palate, with fine, chewy tannins rimming the sides.
