El Enemigo Chardonnay 2018

Mendoza, ArgentinaGualtallary, Tupungato fruit is always a recipe for success, as is Catena winemaker Alejandro Vigil. As if this wasn't intense enough, Vigil adds a little flor, inspired by the Jura, to amp up the palate. El Enimigo is fermented wild for 40 days and aged in 500 litre oak barrels, of which 35 percent are new, for nine months. The attack is a bracing mix of saltiness, lemons, lees, and oak that persist throughout the wine. It's a bit heavy handed in an older chardonnay way, but in the end, it's also revolutionary, especially for Argentina.Tasted: 23 March 2022Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
