Exceptionally fine and expressive, with impressive concentration that belies the lighter style, this is at its best with a light chill. Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaTilted to the more decadent New World style, the pinot comes with soft, round black cherry with a squeeze of black raspberry and spicy Christmas cake. All East Kelowna fruit comes in at a snappy 13 percent alcohol and only 15 percent new oak. Crispy Peking duck pancakes caught my interest as a perfect match. Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaOff their East Kelowna vineyard and its stony gravels, this pinot was destemmed, with 22 days on skins before resting in French oak (15% new). Dark fruited, with sultry plums, morello cherries, whiffs of minty pine, and fruitcake spicing, this fleshy pinot finishes bright, thanks to a pop of acidity.
