Nicolas Mariotti Bindi Cantina di Torra Rouge 2019

Corsica, Sud de France, FranceFrom Bindi's home estate in Patrimonio, this is organically farmed Nielluccio (aka Sangiovese) rooted on clay and limestone slopes. Destemmed grapes spent 48 hours in concrete before a native ferment, followed by 24 months’ rest in concrete. It was bottled without fining and with a light filtration. Super floral, with violets, iris, peonies, fragrant plum blossoms scenting a wild blueberry, mulberry base. Tannins are long and sticky on this lighter (12.2%) red, carrying it to a sweetly spiced, lightly saline finish. Quite unique, and unlike any sangiovese you've had previously. Worth seeking out.Tasted: 20 July 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
