Blue Mountain Estate Cuvée Sauvignon Blanc 2020

Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAgain, it’s the freshness that draws you to this wine. Look for a lemon peel nose with mineral, green melon, lime pith, and wet stone before a clean, leesy, saline finish. Again, BC seafood is the match and just about any will do. Well done and another demonstration that sauvignon blanc can become something more interesting in British Columbia. The technical data includes SB clones 242 and 530, planted densely to 8000 vines per hectare. These are whole cluster pressed, settled overnight, and transferred to 8% stainless steel tanks, 7% 500L French oak, and 85% 4500L foudres for a wild ferment. The wine spends five months on lees before blending and bottling in the same vessels at the same ratio. There is no malolactic fermentation to retain freshness, and the alcohol is a very pleasant 13 percent.Tasted: 23 July 2021Tasted by: Prices:
