British Columbia, CanadaFort Berens is patiently converting its labels, where possible, to all estate fruit or the new BC VQA Lillooet sub-GI. In 2020, an excellent but short vintage was a mix of 39% estate grown grapes, 8% from Winches Spur Vineyard in Lytton, and 53% from vineyards in West Kelowna. The style is dry and crisp, with more citrus and melon tones before the grapefruit kicks in. Clams and mussels are the matches.Tasted: 07 May 2021Tasted by: Prices: BC 19.99 winery online/direct, select private retailers, grocery

British Columbia, CanadaWhile they wait for their Lillooet vineyard to mature, Fort Berens continues to source fruit from around the Okanagan and Similkameen Valleys for their wines. The 2020 PG takes grapes off their estate Dry Creek Vineyard, one in West Kelowna, and one in Lytton. All were whole-cluster pressed and cold fermented in stainless, where it remained until bottling. Crisp and lean, with pear, melon, green apple, and crunchy Asian pear on a bright, zesty grapefruit palate. Enjoy this fresh white this summer, as intended.Tasted: 07 June 2021Tasted by: Prices: BC 19.99 winery online/direct, select private retailers, grocery
