Keremeos, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaClos du Soleil is going from strength to strength with the 2020 vintage. This pinot gris is from Whispered Secret Vineyard in Keremeos, and was whole cluster pressed and fermented in stainless steel barrels and tanks as well as French oak puncheons. Like the winery's other 2020 releases to date, this shows exceptional purity of fruit, and was bottled after three months on its lees to retain bright, youthful fruit with white peach skin and orchard blossom aromatics. But it's just as much about texture as it is fruit, with a pithy, precise palate that shows noticeable dry extract.
