Clos du Soleil Winemaker's Series Whispered Secret Vineyard Pinot Gris 2018

Keremeos, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe first time for this wine, a pinot gris from Keremeos' Whispered Secret Vineyard, and it's fair to say that the secret is out. After a whole cluster press, this was fermented in stainless and French oak for more than a month, and then aged on the lees for an additional four months before bottling with a light filtration. The light touch is welcome in this beautifully balanced, zippy white, full of orchard fruit and bright and juicy with lime and lemon pith acidity. Super expressive in the mouth, with citrus sherbet and a fine zesty texture. No boring BC gris here; well done for creating your own, distinct Similkameen style. We are no longer surprised that Olivier Humbrech got involved with Phantom Creek's new vineyard in the Similkameen to grow pinot gris. The Similkameen is more than exceptional.Tasted: 30 May 2019Tasted by: Treve Ring & Anthony GismondiPrices:
