Caymus - Suisun Grand Durif 2018
California, United StatesSuisun (su-soon) Valley, sits 40 minutes to the southeast from the Caymus home base in Napa Valley, and is home to the durif grape, better known in the New World as petite sirah. This is a big, black wine with soft, round, spicy fruit, in the petit verdot and tannat mould, with a little less tannin. The mid-palate is dense with black cherry, plums, intense blueberries, cocoa, and violet florality in the back end. Drink now with grilled lamb or hold for three to five years. Hedonists will love this one.Tasted: 11 May 2021Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:CDN | $65.00 | 750ml | estimated retail in select private wine shops |
