Vinyes Domènech Bancal del Bosc Tinto 2018

Priorato, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainVinyes Domènech is a family project started Joan Ignaci and his wife, Rita, in Capçanes, in the south of Priorat. Together with their sons, they biodynamically farm 15 hectares of recovered old-vines vineyards. This is 85/15 Garnacha / Samsó (AKA Carignan) from red clay and calcareous soils. After a native ferment, this aged in both French oak and stainless for 6 months. Ripe, leathery raspberry, cherry, strawberry pull across the slow, fuller palate, scented with scrubby thorny rosemary and thyme, and gripped with ample sticky tannins. There's an alluring dried herbal perfume darting throughout, lingering on the sticky finish. Drinking well now, ideally with grilled pork or lamb dishes.Tasted: 21 April 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
