Castaño Hécula Monastrell Organic 2019

Yecla, Valencia and Murcia, SpainOrganically grown monastrell (mourvèdre / mataro) from Yecla in south eastern Spain opens with a savoury, scrubby nose of black cherries and tobacco and spills onto a soft palate of similar flavours with a touch of oak. The fruit comes off 50 year old dry farmed bush vines, leaving the finish with a wild Mediterranean scent. Ready to drink best with grilled lamb, pork, or beef dishes.
