Mt. Boucherie Summit 2018
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSummit is a proprietary red blend representing their best vineyard blocks in the Okanagan and Similkameen, and the best barrels of wine made by winemaker Jeff Hundermark. Merlot leads a mix of cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, syrah, and malbec. The general tone is fresher with cleaner fruit and no shortage of tannins. The palate is a mix of black and blue fruits, with dry, earthy, smoky tobacco undercurrents, and medium spice to a long warm finish. Definitely hedonistic and powerful, but with a little more restraint this time out, and I applaud that. It will need a minimum of five years to settle in unless you served it with a medium-rare Porterhouse to break down some of the tannins and rein in the fruit. Time is on your side here.Tasted: 30 April 2021Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $59.99 | 750ml | winery online/direct |
