Conti Capponi Villa Calcinaia Chianti Classico 2016

Tuscany, ItalyFrom Greve in Chianti, in Chianti Classico's northeast, this organic 90/10 sangiovese / canaiolo is rooted in albarese soils at 225-325m. This was native fermented in stainless and cement, before spending 20 months in wood casks. It underwent the final blend and rest in cement vats prior to bottling. Wearing its time in bottle well, this is a medium bodied red with tart acidity lifting cherry, red currant, dried florals, raspberry to a snappy finish. Tannins are long and lightly sticky, hugging this to the end. On the leaner side, partner this with bean stews.Tasted: 07 April 2021Tasted by: Prices:
