Treana Red 2018
Central Coast, California, United StatesThis Paso Robles red is a blend of cabernet sauvignon (75%) and syrah (25%), harvested from mid October to early November. It's double oaked, first in a combination of second fill and neutral barrels, followed by a 75/25 blend of new and second fill French oak. Between that, the 15% abv, and the heavy bottle, you almost know what you're getting before you even pull the cork. It's a mammoth, no holds barred wine, with bold dark fruits and a small forests worth of sweet oak. It's full bodied and incredibly rich, with a sweet attack and chewy tannins that coat the finish. A love it or hate it wine, but it's no doubt an impressive wine for those that like this style.Tasted: 25 March 2021Tasted by: Geoffrey Moss MWPrices:BC | $49.99 | 750ml | private wine stores |
