Treana Red 2015
Central Coast, California, United StatesOver the years, this wine has evolved from an everything-but-the-kitchen-sink blend to this modern-day, 75/25 cabernet sauvignon/syrah blend, that speaks to the strength of the Hope Family wines. 2015 is opaque, a precursor to its full, luxurious styling. Blackberries, black currants, dark chocolate, cloves, dried fruits and smoky oak build across your palate from front to back before the rich brown spices hinted with cinnamon. All Paso Robles and then some, it has the chops to age a decade if not more, but you may be surprised by its elegance and restraint even at 15 percent alcohol. Speaking of chops, how about grilled lamb chops as a match. Treana is the original Hope family label and represents over thirty years of grape-growing history.Tasted: 08 March 2018Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $49.99 | 750ml | private wine stores |
