Gérard Bertrand Change Merlot 2019

Sud de France, FranceSimple, well made merlot can be a blessing when you look for a mid-week red that won’t overwhelm the food or the conversation. A portion of the wine is wood aged post malolactic fermentation in French Bordeaux barriques for eight months. The remainder of the juice is left in stainless steel and is blended back at bottling to refresh the wooded portion with an aromatic lift. Look for pure plums, boysenberry, and spice with a swath of savoury notes and chalky tannins underneath. Ready to drink and perfect with pork, chicken or rich vegetarian dishes.Tasted: 15 February 2021Tasted by: Prices:
