Valle de Aconcagua, Region de Aconcagua, ChileNamed after founder Don Maximiano Errázuriz, the fruit for this Chilean cabernet sauvignon is sourced from estate vineyards across the Aconcagua Valley. Ripe but fresh, this shows luscious blackberry, bright black currant, sweet herbs, and just a hint of oak (even at 30% new). The complexity is certainly above the norm for this price point, but it's the overall balance that really makes it appealing. Medium-bodied, with some sweetness to the attack, the juicy acidity and fine, supple tannins make this an approachable cabernet that’s perfect for midweek barbeque.Tasted: 05 February 2021Tasted by: Prices:
Valle de Aconcagua, Region de Aconcagua, ChileFrom the Aconcagua Valley, Max Reserva was macerated and fermented in stainless before heading to French oak (30% new) for a year's ageing. Potent and dense, with compact medicinal black fruits woven with sharp and pitchy green sap and roasted root veg, over a black, tarry, shellac base to a minty finish. The whole is scented with campfire, while tannins are pretty well absorbed into the whole. It definitely requires fire-charred meat to match (as intended).Tasted: 08 February 2021Tasted by: Prices:
