Château Canada 2018
Bordeaux, FranceI've always thought the name Château Canada is a tad unfortunate, because it could be construed as a gimmick for the Canadian market. That's not the case; it was named by a previous owner after spending time in Lower Canada two centuries ago. What you get is a solid Bordeaux Supérieur that's fresh and juicy in style, combining currant and plum fruit with leafy herbs. The tannins are firm, and a touch chalky, but this is meant to be served at the dinner table after an hour or so in the decanter anyway. Who says Bordeaux has to be overpriced?
