Château Canada 2010

Bordeaux, FranceChateau Canada has been making wine for 114 years. The fruit comes off about 6 hectares of gently rolling vineyard in Cubzac-les-Ponts made up of clay, chalk and gravel soils. The blend is 70/30 merlot cabernet sauvignon, the vines are on average 25 years old. The 2010 is big on structure and design with a little less flesh but in this case more merlot helps to soften the edge of this drought vintage. Full bodied and dry it has a mix of earthy red, cedar, tobacco leaf and leathery notes. Try this with a grilled steak frites for best results.Tasted: 01 April 2014Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
