Beringer Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Knights Valley, Sonoma County, California, United StatesBeringer has used the Knights Valley designation since 1974, well ahead of it being officially designated as an AVA in 1983. Labelled as a single variety cabernet sauvignon, Beringer champions this as a Bordeaux blend with 8% merlot, 5% cabernet franc, and 1% petit verdot. It shows ripe blackberry fruit, fig, dried herbs, and integrated sweet-spiced oak after ageing for 20 months in French wood (27% new). Medium-full bodied and quite linear, it lacks some concentration and fruit density on the midpalate, finishing with youthful fine-grained tannins. Nicely balanced.Tasted: 02 December 2020Tasted by: Geoffrey Moss MWPrices:BC | $46.99 | 750ml | BCLS |
