River Stone Corner Stone 2017
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaRiver Stone Winery lies just south of McIntyre Bluff, north of Oliver town centre in the south Okanagan Valley. Corner Stone is a blend of 33/24/22/17/4 merlot, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, malbec, and petit verdot, all grown at their estate River Rock Vineyard. The wine was aged in 33 percent new French oak for approximately 12 months, and after the final blend, it goes back in barrel for six months. The wine was barrel aged an additional six months before final filtering and bottling. This is a rich, fruity, black plum red with subtle minerality and length. The finish is a long line of spicy desert sagebrush flecked with coffee and smoke. Impressive but young and will need time.
