Rapitalà Grillo Organic

Rapitalà Grillo Organic 2019

Sicily, ItalyGrillo, one of the main Sicilian whites, is thought to be a cross between catarratto (another important Sicilian grape) and Muscat d’Alexandria. It is a significant grape for Rapitalà, and was one of the first native grapes to be widely planted on the property in the 1970s. This organically-farmed (to be certified in 2020) grillo comes from sandy clay soils, and was fermented and aged briefly in stainless to preserve freshness. Flush with the Sicilian sun, this is plump with white peach, prickly pear, white blossoms, shaved almonds on a snappy, shorter palate.Tasted: 02 September 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices: BC 16.99 BCL Select Producer: Tenuta RapitalàDistributors: Dandurand
