Sicily, ItalyThis is a compelling expression of grillo, at an even more compelling price. There's real depth and complexity, with a lovely interplay of fruit, florals, and savoury herbs. It's crisp and refreshing, offering a combination of Anjou pear and white peach that is lifted by lime blossom and perfumed thyme. Plus, it's certified organic to boot.Tasted: 08 May 2023Tasted by: Prices:
Sicily, ItalyGrillo, a native Italian grape variety, has grown at Rapitalà since the early 1970s. The organically certified white gets a brief classic ferment in stainless steel before ageing on its lees in the tank for an equally brief time to keep it fresh and lively. How good is this wine for the price? Well, very good and it’s not to be missed this summer. Look for a ripe mix of melons, peaches, and tangerines with a dusting of seaside salinity. I’m with Treve. It tastes like summer, and it tastes like more. Bring on the bites.Tasted: 04 July 2023Tasted by: Prices:
Sicily, ItalyGrillo was one of the first native grapes to be widely planted on the Rapitalà property in the 1970s. This organic grillo comes from sandy clay soils, and was fermented and aged briefly in stainless to preserve freshness. Ripe melon, juicy tangerine, fragrant white peach run this juicy palate, scented with almond blossoms and fresh with Mediterranean salinity. Tastes like summer; crack into and enjoy now.Tasted: 26 May 2023Tasted by: Prices:
