Mission Hill Quatrain 2016

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaOne of the changes that winemaker Darryl Brooker wanted to make when he took over Quatrain was to make it a syrah-dominant blend. Mission accomplished in 2016: this is a 34/31/28/7 blend of syrah, merlot, cabernet franc, and cabernet sauvignon. It’s obvious you don’t need much more syrah for it to leave a big mark. This is quite perfumed and spicy, alongside vibrant black fruits. It manages to be both dense and juicy with fine, sinewy tannins that make this a pleasure to drink now but it will certainly improve after being tucked away for 5-7 years. Another 2016 red that Brooker has hit out of the park.Tasted: 19 September 2020Tasted by: Prices:
