Stag's Hollow Albariño Shuttleworth Creek Vineyard 2019

Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaRich, ripe, and full, like biting into a juicy, overripe Okanagan peach, this powerhouse of an Albariño is from Shuttleworth Creek Vineyard's gravel, till and silty loam. It stuffs a big punch into a 13% declared frame, with that aforementioned peach melding with apricot, gooseberry, and vanilla on the palate. The grapes were lightly crushed and settled in large stainless drums, concrete tanks, and French barrels, where they were fermented separately and held on lees for 6 months with full bâtonnage, prior to blending and bottling. Certainly a richer style, needing an equally rich halibut or sablefish dish (preferably laced with peaches) to marry.Tasted: 14 August 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
