San Fabiano Calcinaia Chianti Classico 2018
Tuscany, ItalySan Fabiano Calcinaia is family owned since 1983. They have 165ha, with 46ha vineyards, all organically farmed since 2012. Calcinaia refers to the main soil of the estate = calcareous clays. From 250-500m, this is a blend of 90% sangiovese, 5% colorino, and 5% malvasia nera, native fermented and with 12 months in 2nd use 500L French oak barrels. Ripe raspberry, cherry, with ample hard tannins; this is somewhat clamped/closed down at this stage.
