Mission Hill Terroir Collection Jagged Rock Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc - Semillion 2019

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe 2019 growing season began with near-perfect seasonal conditions in spring and summer before a wet, and subsequently, cold fall proved challenging for many producers and varieties. In the end, strict viticultural practice was king and Mission Hill has a firm handle on that. There is something magical about the sauvignon / sémillon coming out of south Oliver's Jagged Rock Vineyard, given its deep, glacial till soils and warm conditions by sauvignon / sémillon standards. The mix in 2019 is 70/30 sauvignon blanc / sémillon. Only 10% went to neutral French oak and 5% was fermented to concrete egg, with the remainder in stainless. All in all, it sings with freshness and the bright lemon, gooseberry, passionfruit you hope for from this blend. Still, there is an exotic tangerine undercurrent that smooths and lengthens the dusty, herbal sagebrush finish. A food-friendly, stylish, polished wine.Tasted: 10 April 2020Tasted by: Prices:
